A Way Out
Developed by Hazelight Studios, A Way Out is one of the most surprising hits this year. This action-adventure co-op game can only be enjoyed in a multiplayer format, either online or split screen, providing a fresh new take on the popular cooperative genre. Players are required to work together to navigate time event and solve several puzzles to successfully escape a prison. The game also impresses with a phenomenal storyline and is considered a must-play for players who are looking for one of the best co-op games in the industry.
Far Cry 5
Far Cry 5 will take players on an action-packed adventure to Hope County in Montana where they’ll be required to take down the doomsday cult led by Joseph Seed. Players can enjoy the entire campaign of Far Cry 5 in multiplayer mode, complete with hilarious antics due to the rich setting. The vast selection of vehicles and weapons combined with the new co-op and companions makes this an extremely fun and entertaining experience over and above the dark narrative.
This is certainly one of the more unexpected surprises in 2018 where the story continues with Yarny. However, instead of a single player game like the previous instalment, Unravel Two can be enjoyed cooperatively. Players will need to work together to solve difficult puzzles and explore the gorgeous world by only utilizing each other and the environment to advance in the game. Although it is only a local multiplayer game, it is definitely worth checking out if you are looking for a heart-warming co-op game.
Forza Horizon 4
When people imagine multiplayer games, the first thing that comes to mind is first-person shooters. However, the new Forza Horizon 4 indicates that there can be loads of action and entertainment by getting behind the wheel of a fast car as well. This open-world racing game offers players the ability to explore the entire UK at their own pace where they can create and customize their own cars during their careers. With up to 72 players on a single server, it’s no surprise that Forza Horizon 4 has been voted the best multiplayer racing game for 2018.
Destiny 2: Forsaken
There’s quite a bit that can be said about Destiny 2 during its first year. However, the brand-new expansion is definitely a major improvement for the franchise, providing an arsenal of new subclasses in an ever-evolving city. Destiny managed to bring back what most fans loved from the first instalment, a hobby. There are weekly events and a new challenge system with plenty of exciting rewards to look forward to as well.
