The best racing games in the past were always considered a two-horse race between Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport. However, within the last two years, that has changed considerably thanks to a broader selection of some seriously incredible options. Whether you enjoy arcade driving, rallying, or ultra-realistic circuit racing, there’s something out there for you. Therefore, we compiled a list of the best racing games on Xbox One for 2019.
Forza Motorsport 7
No driving game list is complete without mentioning Forza Motorsport. The game from Microsoft Studios is considered the best racing simulation game to date, striking with a perfect mixture of accessibility and realism. The game comes equipped with a wide variety of modes, and once you completed the career mode, you can test your skills against online players in multiplayer mode with over 700 different cars. You can also enter Rivals to challenge your friends by producing the best lap times.
If you love improving your lap times for hours on end, this game is perfect for you. It offers the most realistic handling out of any other racing simulation game and provides tons of setup systems which makes it truly addictive. Although it’s not considered the prettiest game on the market, you’ll immediately be captivated by the feel and sound of the cars. Even though it’s a relatively small game, it does come with loads of DLC packages to make it more attractive to players.
DIRT Rally was an incredible game that produced a realistic, gritty return from Codemasters. However, DIRT 4 is even better, providing you with a more involved and expansive video game that surpasses all other rally games on Xbox One. The handling is delicate, the graphics are exceptional, and there’s tons of phenomenal racing to look forward to. You can compete in time trails, participate in rally-cross, complete daily challenges, and even enjoy some time in time-attack mode. If you are looking for a decent rally game, DIRT 4 is the one to consider.
Forza Horizon 4
Although Forza 4 Horizon cannot be compared to the realistic driving games we have on our list it still provides loads of entertainment and fun. It’s mostly a throwback game to titles like Ridge Racer, Burnout Paradise, and Need for Speed, but with the graphical excellence of Forza Motorsport 7. Even though realism is not the main focus in the game, it still provides hours of entertainment and nail-biting action.
Although the new F1 2018 addition appears similar to the 2017 release, it comes equipped with all tracks and cars from the F1 championship in 2018, including the famous Circuit Paul Ricard, making its return to F1 after a decade, as well as the Hockenheim ring which wasn’t part of the championship last year. It’s a more rounded video game with far better graphics and handling than ever before. If you love F1, you will immediately be captivated by this new release.
