This hyper-realistic roleplaying game was slated to release on April 16th, with it now being pushed back till September 17th. The game remains scheduled to release for the PlayStation Four, Xbox One, Google Stadia and Personal Computer. However, this announcement confirmed that CD Project Red is developing a next-generation compatible version of Cyberpunk 2077. It’ll be available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X shortly after their initial launch dates.
The press release from CD Project Red came with an official statement. This developer noted that their game is nearly complete and playable, with full-scale stories and content that’ll provide hundreds of hours in gameplay. Developing this stature of an open-world requires an exceptional level of testing, patches and enhancements to the original build. CD Project Red expressed that they want to release a complete game that will be a generational achievement. Subsequently, this will require an additional six months of development for Cyberpunk 2077. Financially speaking, this decision will benefit CD Project Red, as September looms shortly before the holiday sales period. This will surely increase profits and potentially make Cyberpunk 2077 a PlayStation or Xbox Classic.
Consumers that purchase Cyberpunk 2077 will traverse Night City, which will be one of the most expansive metropolises every designed for video game consoles. The demonstration displayed at the 2019 Electronic Consumers Expo showed a city bustling with thousands of individuals. This was extended to bright skies to gloomy rainstorms, creating a weather system that will make every minute in this game dynamic. Night City is based far off into the future and located in California. There still isn’t any word if players can traverse the surrounding area’s, with game analysts debating that surrounding environments to Night City will be released with downloadable content.
The History of Night City
CD Project Red confirmed that there’d be a great level of history surrounding Night City. It’ll be split apart into four distinct jurisdictions, with various moments in their history causing for the local environments to change. The first historical period was Entropism, which saw a significant level of poverty, created for slum lands that are still used today in Night City. Then came the time of Kitsch, which is when the Low to Middle Class began to rise to power, creating extravagant homes of colourful nature.
After their rise came the Neomilitarism Period, this is when the wealthy arrived at Night City and began developing towering skyscrapers. Players are placed into the Neo-Kitsch Period, which has the middle class take back control and create a colourful lifestyle to the city. All these styled buildings interact with each other, creating a dynamic environment that’ll take players weeks to explore.
